Sixteen states have implemented programs to improve oral health for pregnant women and infants at high risk for oral disease. What can we learn from their unique approaches to integrating oral health care into existing service models?
Tara Fowler, deputy director and lead researcher at Altarum, will share on April 17 at 2:30 p.m. preliminary findings from Altarum's comprehensive evaluation of these 16 programs. Also speaking are Dana Fischer of the Children's Health Alliance of Wisconsin, who will discuss Wisconsin's experience implementing a statewide integrated oral health program, and Mayte Canto of HRSA, the funder of this important oral health quality improvement initiative.
Read more about the seminar on NOHC's website.
Allyson Rogers of Altarum will also be presenting a poster on April 15 at 4:30 p.m. on our work in Michigan to improve oral health care access by training WIC staff to discuss oral health with clients and refer them to dental providers. Look for the poster titled "Integrating Children's Oral Health into Rural and Urban Michigan WIC Clinics: 3 Years of Pilot Data."
