Baltimore, MD
We hope to see you at the National WIC Association Conference in Baltimore, MD, on April 6 - 9, where our experts will be speaking about strategies for retaining participants in the WIC program, and successful approaches to integrating substance misuse interventions into non-traditional settings. See details below:
April 6, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Linnea Sallack of Altarum, former WIC program director of California, will assist with this one-day workshop focused on sharing lessons from the field and helping attendees work through the barriers and facilitators to implementing different WIC retention strategies in their specific setting. Over the course of the day, participants will learn about ideas and tools to attract and retain program participants. This will be a dynamic day of learning, sharing and strategizing.
April 9, 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Experts from Altarum and Cardea, a training and research organization, will share strategies for building capacity among non-traditional providers to integrate substance use disorder services into their operations.
They will share learnings from their Focus on the Fourth Project where they are training Community Health Centers and WIC clinics in three Texas counties to screen clients struggling with opioid use, and provide education and referrals to treatment and recovery support services.
Speakers include Melanie Ogleton from Cardea and Denise Raybon and Jennifer Rogers from Altarum.
