WEBINAR: Enhancing Health Care Value Through Data, Measurement, and Evaluation of Services and Procedures

As Americans grapple with the enormous strain of the COVID-19 pandemic on humanity and the health system, there is a clear need to adapt the health system to more efficiently address the needs of patients. Inefficient healthcare spending can drive up costs, negatively impact patient outcomes, and consume resources that could be redirected towards services that more effectively improve patient outcomes.

Evidence-based tools can help make sure money goes where it’s needed most. For decades, the field of health economics and outcomes research has designed and deployed methods to conduct clinical and economic evaluation of health interventions. These ever-evolving tools serve as an important foundation to assess value and efficiency across the health care system. 

Through the Research Consortium for Health Care Value Assessment, funded by PhRMA, Altarum has awarded grants to seven teams or individuals to conduct research to inform more robust evidence generation on effectiveness and value of health care services, helping to ensure that health care dollars go where they are needed the most.

On Wednesday, November 3rd, Altarum will host a webinar where the researchers will present their work. All articles will also be published as a Health Affairs blog series.
