Older people of color face greater challenges accessing quality home and community-based services (HCBS) due to systemic inequities. The same is also true of people of color with disabilities. What policies and actions can address these persistent disparities to ensure historically marginalized groups receive quality and accessible HCBS based on their personal preferences and needs?

Join the webinar to learn:

  • The experience of people of color in navigating the gaps and deficiencies of community-based services.
  • Socioeconomic barriers that contribute to a higher prevalence of chronic conditions among Black Americans and other people of color.
  • How funding of Medicaid, Medicare and the Older Americans Act  can be leveraged to address inequities alongside the American Jobs Plan HCBS proposal.
  • Promising models of home and community-based services around the world, and how to adapt them to the US model.
  • The Biden Administration’s goals and plans for improving HCBS access and quality. How financial forecasting informed by Medicare and Medicaid data can be used to estimate gaps in access and choice and to pinpoint areas for investment.
