Altarum contributed two articles about WIC to the supplemental issue of the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior of May 2014.
The WIC Supplement of the journal highlights studies and research that address the impacts of the new WIC food package, WIC nutrition education, and WIC and nutritional intake. These studies have generated important recommendations for the WIC program based on national, regional, and state data by using by using different research methodologies. As WIC celebrates its 40th anniversary, WIC research continues to be critical in helping to strengthen the program and improve nutrition and health for low-income mothers and young children.
