Consumer involvement in health care decisions results in safer, more effective, and less expensive health care. In order to support people in making informed choices, we need to understand the types of skills and attitudes that improve their likelihood of success.

The Altarum Consumer Engagement (ACE) Measure™ is designed to assess the health engagement levels of individuals and populations.

Does engagement matter? Absolutely.

Organizations can use the ACE Measure to:

  • Understand health engagement behavior in a population,
  • Improve the impact of health programs and communications by tailoring and targeting efforts, and
  • Monitor how engagement levels change over time.

Our published validation research on ACE appears in the journal The Patient, available for free through open access.
